DrawnToSurvivor - Rules
_____________________________________________________________

Greetings, It's your host Sylph Probst speaking. I will be accepting applications HERE for this, the first season of DrawnToSurvivors. To apply for this upcoming season, simply fill out the form at the bottom of this post.

Before doing so, you should read the rest of this post to make sure you have a good understanding of what the stats you select will mean and if you will be a good candidate for next season.

Please note that each season the last season's players will have the right to retain the character they played, so it would be best if you selected a character which did not already appear in previous seasons.
_____________________________________________________________

General Introduction

DrawnTo Survivor is essentially a forum based version of the popular TV show Survivor with a simple twist of all the participants being fictional characters. If you've seen the show you probably already understand the basics of the game. If not, hopefully by the time you read the rules you will.

Participation is very Important!

This game depends on the all the Survivors participation and may move quickly at times. So, if you have limited access to the internet or this web site, you may wish to reconsider joining the game as it may put you at too great a disadvantage. If you think you will be able to visit the site and participate in the game a couple of times each week, that should be sufficient for the early game. Later in the game you may be at a disadvantage if you miss even a single day!

One other important thing to remember about this game is that to Outwit, Outplay and Outlast the other competition you will need to not only rely on the strengths of your mind and the skills you selected, but also the relationships you form with your tribe mates and those outside of your tribe. This means it's probably best to get to know a good number of people in the game.

Game Modes

A brief summary of each of the modes and what one should typically expect in them follows. But, if one thing is always true in Survivor, you never truly know what to expect. Survivor is always filled with many interesting twists and turns and I promise as your host that there will be many in this version of the game.

The rules are loose and can change quickly. For the most part a Survivor is allowed to use any means they feel comfortable with, short of physically or emotionally harming the other competitors. This includes lying, if you think you can get away with it and not pay the price for it later. How you play this game and the strategy you employ is entirely up to you.
_____________________________________________________________

Camp Life

The largest part of DrawnTo Survivor Life is Camp Life. Camp Life is where the characters spend most of their time. This is where you'll be living until you are voted off or reach the final two. Life here can be a pleasant stay or a constant battle, its up to the diversified strength of your tribe and how well you and your tribe manage your camp. Some of you're early goals in this mode will be to build a shelter, build a fire, find food and a good water source. Later you may look to upgrade your camp with different ammenities. Winning Reward Challenges is often the best way to do this.

After you have the essentials, daily chores will need to be done. You and your tribe will need to divide up the daily chores of Camp Life. Each day you will need to select a tribe leader to assign whatever tasks aren't taken by tribe members willingly. How much effort tribe members put to these tasks can be effected by your leaders leadership skill level. This is especially important if a tribe member happens to be away from the forum when chores must be carried out, as they will by default put in the minimum amount of effort otherwise.

Challenges

This is where you and your tribe will compete for rewards and/or immunity thru various chalenges. These challenges can be physical in nature which are dependant upon the stats you selected, they can be a game which rellies on your wits in order to win, or a combination of both.

Reward Challenges

Winning these challenges will earn you or your tribe rewards that strengthen your tribe in all ways imaginable. Winning these will also keep your morale and energy high. Though not as important as Immunity Challenges, their impact should not be underestimated.

Immunity Challenges

Immunity Challenges are as big as they get. Winning immunity challenges will give you or your tribe immunity, which means they cannot get voted off. You will need a wide range of skills, both innate (the ones you selected) and otherwise to win these chalenges.

DrawnTo Council

Should you or your tribe end up here, you and your tribe will need to vote to find out which one of you leaves the game. Once all the votes are in, the character selected will be out of the game. Clearly, you have to be in it to win it so you should do whatever you can to try to make sure the person voted off is not you. _____________________________________________________________

Skill Explainations

Below is an example of what each skill would mean practically. Please do not copy paste this section when you fill out the form above. Not everything a specific skill effects is mentioned, but it should give you a good idea of how they would effect your character should you not understand what they effect by their name alone.

Also, zero in any skill is generally not a good idea as there are hidden synergies which in effect boost all the skills, which will be explained a little further down.

Strength effects how much weight you can lift, zero means you might get tired lifting a piece of paper, and five means you could lift large objects over your head.

Swimming effects how well you can swim, zero means you cant swim to save your life, and 5 means you can swim very well.

Speed effects how fast you move, zero is slow and five is fast

Endurance effects how long you can keep doing a physcial activity, zero means not very long and five means quite awhile.

Climbing effects how well you can climb things, zero means you need help getting over a short wall and five means you can climb any tree on your own easily.

Cooking effects how good a meal you can prepare, zero means people will only eat the food you make if they are starving and five means they will truly enjoy food you make and get more energy from it.

Gathering effects how well you can search for things, like firewood, fruit, hidden objects. Zero in this skill means you might look for your galsses when they are on your head and five means you might notice money under the cushions of someone's sofa by sitting on it.

Survival Skills effects how well you can start a fire, find a water source, navigate the island, determine which plants are edible, etc. Zero in this means you wouldn't know a poisonous mushroom from an edible one, five in this means you could probably start a fire using two sticks and a length of rope.

Building effects how well you can construct things, like boats, shelters, ect. Zero would mean you'd likely build a boat that couldnt even flaots and five means you'd likely be able to build a shelter thats storm proof.

Hunting/Fishing effects how well you can hunt down food like fish, wild pigs, the elusive coconut. Zero in this means you'd likely only end up being bit by a pig you were trying to catch and five means you might land a whopper of a fish that could feed your entire tribe for the day.

*Determination is the mental version of endurance. Zero means your character is likely to give up at the first sign of a problem and five means your character will keep going even when there seems to be no hope of victory.

Accuracy effects how well you can control your body, like moving across a balance beam, aiming a sling shot, shooting a basketball.

Balance your Characters Stats!!

Remember a well balanced character is a better character, but you should pick some unique skills to make you a more important member of your tribe. There are no useless skills. Strength is not more important than cooking and leadership is not better than speed. Every skill will come into play at some point in the game. Some may be of use more often then others, but only slightly more.

Gender and Age will also have some hidden effects on your characters over all skills. No gender nor age is stronger than any of the others over all, however, they will effect different skills differently. So, do not fear picking the one you like, including other, but remember it pays to create a character that matches their age and gender (Speedy youths, enduring seniors, etc, etc).

Beyond this, there are hidden synergies between all the skills that effects everyones final score in every single stat! These hidden synergies have a significant impact on your stats, so understand that your original stats will change and in most cases be increased far beyond your original score. So the stat points people spend are only a hint at what their final totals might be.

That’s it, have fun spending your 45 points in any way you like, but do try to that makes your character different from anyone elses. Diversity is the key to a strong tribe and an interesting game.
