Ahh... drawing carp.I've always been into drawing, whether it be inane doodles or somewhat ok anime-style dudes. I remember back in elementary school I used to draw these "books." They were basically paper stapled together with pictures and strange ill-thought of storylines. Sometimes they were based off of some vieogame I was currently crazed over, like this one about Arcade America. I even made one with my friend Ben Leslie, where he wrote the story and I drew it, (It's funny because it said "Illustrations by Ben, pictures by Ian. We didn't know what illustrations meant yet.) and it was about stinky socks. It was incredibly kickass. In the end, baby metal Sonic (or something like that, hahaha) killed the socks and they were put in the wash.
In middle school I always drew stick figure and other types of comics with Ben. Well, it wasn't a team effort, but in band class we reviewed each other's work and drew. Let's face it, we were good but being a middle school percussionist doesn't take much effort.
So since I went to a different highschool than Ben, I've still been drawing but haven't really made a comic since then. But I'm planning something awesome... Hatmaster!
Yeah, ok, it doesn't have the most solid of storylines. But I've always had an interest in having kind of RPG-type stories, so this'll just make fun of 'em. I needed something goofy yet semiserious. I usually just give up on comics, too, which is unfortunate, so maybe something like this will encourage me to go forward and stuff like that. Anyway, I made a Deviant Arts page. (Mostly because I forgot my password for my old MegaTokyo one and I didn't want to bother trying to find it.) Even if I'm going to start this regardless of what people might think, is anyone interested in reading this new comic?

i don't know.... it's cool that you're good at the drawing, though, i can't draw well at all and my brother isn't much better... howabout, looking into RPGbased comics like 8-bit theater for ideas? they're always helpfull parodies.

Well, when I actually get around to drawing it after finals are over (after next wednesday) it's going to kind of be RPG-like. Like, walking around from city to city, getting hats with special attributes, picking up party members. Well, there might be a HUB... I dunno yet. But it's not like this is going to be something super epic that might blow everone here on the forum's minds, splattering your brains all over the walls behind you, it's just a stick figure comic.

these people haven't seen my stick figure drawings.
besides, any kind of satire is mildly funny.

Yeah, some people just can't draw, whether it's sticks or otherwise.
I've been practicing a looong time, so my sticks are fantasmic. I even have them proportioned just the right way so that they can be humanoid, chibi-ish, teen... Ha, I'm bragging about my ablity to draw lines and circles. Now that's l33t.
