darksuckersever heard of this theory? http://www.zerobeat.net/qrp/darktheory.html
now, can anyone prove why this doesnt work?
...or is there no possible reason why it shouldnt?

allow me.
how do you explain batteries, the rechargable kind? and that the same energy used to illuminate can be used to, say, power a fan? also, the direction of a current can be acurately measured, and believe you me, it is in the direction of the houses the power is going.
and we could go all sorts of proofs with the electromagnetic spectrum. visible light is radiation; it takes time to get places. how would you explain light signals? pulses? not easily. they could not be, as they do not change the current of other electromagnetic radiation. how would you explain wireless network delay?
how would you explain solar power? the power comes from the light, not from making it but from absorbing it. it is not glowing, yet it generates energy.
and how do you explain fire? lightbulbs, believe you me as i have seen lesser ones built, are a slowed burning. and fire, would it not take energy from everything, the logs even, if you did that? also, how would you explain the properties of atoms on a molecular level as the electrons are discharged and the atoms could even undergo changes and create compounds? there are alot of things like this.
also, watch for sources. no sources! nothing to back up that any sane person would think such a thing; no credibility. i do not think anyone should believe this, but so long as they are not evangelious about it, people can believe what they want.
they both acnowledge the existance of photons, and dispute that they ever existed. which is it? they are not concistent.
and that is real coal. we can test it. with lazer knives and molecular microscopes. it has a chemical composition. it burns. it undergoes a traceable molecular transformation.
there is nothing really going for it, and much more than this going against it.

Dark, like cold, does not exist.
There is only heat and light.
And this message you linked is obviously a joke.
I believe it is suposed to be funny.
That people might believe it, part of the joke.

False, false false!
Dark is the absense of light and Warm is the absense of cold. That's final. We all know heat and light exist.

sylph has it 100% scientifically right. if they were serious they would have cited good sourses, and this reminds me of the Dihidrogen Monoxide report. someone actually got Dihidrogen Monoxide banned in a town. search the web for it; it is a very interesting report. i'lll put a link here when i have time.

I highly doubt this is true
That's just my two cents

Actually, heat is just when particles have energy, and coldness is just when they don't. Neither have any more right to be called something which exists--they're both just different levels of kinetic energy.

dont worry, i knew all along that it was a joke/not true
(i originally about found the "theory" in my science class; my teacher made us write an essay about why it wouldnt work)
but it does make you think...

KillerSlime

you're as mean... well, almost as mean as the Dihidrogen Monoxide person. i'm not telling much about it; only that pretty much everything in the initial article is true, for that.

That's amusing. I was wondering if you actually believed it or not. Oh, and also, kittens are.......um, bouncy. Yeah, that's it.
|
goombapatrol054

nah, i didnt believe it, but wouldnt it be strange if something so simple could be so different than we thought?
by the by, did you know that a color is actually every color but the one you see?
an apple for instance: being "red", it absorbs every color except red.
thats how we see it as "red"
|
SpEEdySnAIL
|
Yes, it reflects. Interesting concept, too.

KillerSlime
|
aaah! the world is round!
it's alot like that, ne?
and, color is what it appears. color is defined by what we see! kittens are fuzzy. people who bounce kittens have no respect for them, right?
|
SpEEdySnAIL
|
Umm....yes, but kittens bounce just fine on their own. You should see the little streaks of greased lightning that run around my house...
|
KillerSlime
|
ah, you are right! kittens are"um... bouncy" so long as they bounce themselves and not are being bounced unhealthily.
|
SpEEdySnAIL
|
Yes, 'tis so, but I much prefer the kittens of a fuzzy sort.
|
KillerSlime
|
fuzzy kittens it is, then. they are much more pleasant to have arround.

My two favorite fuzzy kittens are all grown up... 2 years old!

so sad... i may have said this before, but my least favorite thing about kittens is that they become cats.

Cats are very nice, too, just as much fun as kittens with less curtain ripping at 5x the fuzz to hug!

Dont like cats? I happen to love them mysylph.
But, even if you don't love them, you can still have fun with them.
Try The Sniffing Game. It's real easy to play.
1) Find a cat that doesnt run away from you.
2) Pick a random object small enough to hold in your hand.
3) Present it to the cat.
4) The cat will always sniff it, as long as you havent already presented them with the same item. Sometimes even if you have!
5) Repeat steps 2-4 until the cat gets annoyed and wanders off.
6) Try for a new record.

SpEEdySnAIL

LOL. That's funny. Who said they didn't like cats?
|

i dont not like cats (double negative, i know), but i'm allergic, so it's hard to imagine living with one
*achoo!*

i do not hate cats, i just like kittens more. i also like cats; but i wish they were seperate so a kitten would always be a kitten.

SpEEdySnAIL

lol. Like the people who buy puppys thinking "oh, how cute!" and then abandon them a year later when they realise they can't feed that huge *insert big dog breed here* appetite, or the dog gets to be too much trouble. Don't buy the puppy if you can't keep a full-sized dog.

that is one of the many, many reasons i do not have a pet. not that i would do that, but i am anticipating hte feelings that make people throw them out. like preemptably throwing it out, but not as mean.
