ok, as you might know, an easter egg is a hidden feature, picture, or sound clip found in nearly all pieces of software. they can be a hidden mini game, a funny picture of the development crew, or simply a programmer's name.

anyway, i've found a few by mysylph, but this site: www.eeggs.com has helped me find so many more

my current favorite is simple. just open microsoft word and type (without the speech marks) "=rand(200,99)" (info about it here)

anyway, feel free to post your favorite easter eggs you've found in games, programs, or anywhere else..

in Majesty, there is a "easter egg" code, where each character and building says something, like "sleeping on leaf hurt. me want waterbed"
in LOZ;ALTTP, there is a secret room you can get to if you do things fast in the right order. it is fun to be there!
in EV Nova, the staff all have ships named after them, and they are very vengefull if you attack a producer.
in SA2, Big the Cat appears in many scenes, like running from the truck in City Escape(not in SA2:B), and (my favorite) fishing for data in the computer room on the ARK.
the Konami code, everywhere. it makes an awesome little easter egg.
in all LOZs, if you start attacking Cucoos, then they will scream and run. continue, and a army of cucoos will come and kill you.
in the orrigional LOZ, in Collector's Edition, you can get the second release's maps by entering Zelda(the name of the princess) into the name space.
there are so many more i like... none of them float in particular right now.

Actually the =rand(199,100) thing is a feature not an easter egg. It says so on the msoffice site, on one of the Crabby Office Lady's tip pages. It's so you can easily enter 'dummy text' to test out templates...

Or so they say. They could be making up excuses for putting pointless stuff in word...

some cheat-eggs:

another good one that you all can try out (well, those with a windows xp) is the "space cadet" pinball game that comes with the system

try typing "hidden(spacebar)test". you'll be able to control the ball with your mouse!

another: press alt+shift+2 in solitare to instantly win

in minesweeper, to reveal mines:
with your cursor inside the minesweeper window type "xyzzy" then press shift-enter.
now, where you're playing, if a white dot (a single pixel) appears in the upper-left corner of the screen its safe to click. If it turns black, your cursor is resting on a mine.

not a video-game easter egg, but in one of my school's textbooks, it shows the Simple Interest formula as I=PORN. people loved it so much they put it on shirts;

in gta san andrea's at the gaint bridge use a jet pack and fly up and you will find a sign saying. "go away! there are no easter eggs here." Laughing Hard
