So would someone please explain who these characters will be controlled by? I mean, from time to time players have to take liberties to move the story along and controll other characters' minor events. So will the controllers be the players who made them, or neutral, or what?

i don't quite get mr. unknown...
i'd been planning that character for a while, was going to put him in when there was a good opertunity, as you can have up to two, but now seemed a good time... and suchlike. seems we all got an extra but you, Koz.
i restate that i don't get mr. unknown... i feel that a chara's personality is based off of one thing that the person who makes it believes it to be, and works from there. especially with so many blanks, and saying he's a free-for-all, i don't think he'll be thinking the same thought train from post to post.
and if we were to give him to you, then that's 3 for you. the rest of us got our own seconds but Koz, who i'm not sure would want him, and so either we bring in a new person, assign him to someone here, or try to sort out this confusion through apathy...

and, may i add, this whole "hidden power" thing happening in the few seconds it took us to run out the door and arround the corner? i don't think one man would get that repretation... i mean, he's no Vash the Stampede. unless he's some sort of mutant or something, super-powered, then i don't think he's as important as the mages in the war already.

don't mean to insult anyones ideas, of course, but i just don't understand that one character and this "hidden power"...

okay, so back to discussing this FWWE universe. i think there is alot of racism... between all the races, even(though less so) between the different elementals. being human feels like being cattle. people treat you like you know nothing, can do nothing, etc. and they can easily outdo you with their various magics.
it's like, wow. we've created our own little racist RP world. and it's all pain for the humans... everyone else can defend themselves with magic, while few humans can learn it and don't get the base things there.

Hmm... There is some truth to what you're saying, but I kind of disagree. But reading back on the first post of chapter 1, I agree more...

I suppose I'm a bit biased, though, considering I have one of the stronger characters. (That's another reason I didn't want to have another character, besides being lazy and not being able to think of one )But looking at it right now, Kyo actually has the second most brute force, as Xae and Reev are more agility-type characters. I mean, you'd expect a sylph to be agile with the wings and air-afilliation. And Xae's a... well, actually she's pretty all-around weapon-wise, eh? So far she's used a stalve, a bow, and daggers. Anyway, those are all pretty agility-involved weapons.

As for Tisea (sp) she's a mage, which coupled with the fact that the characters don't know that, we also don't know what her abilities are. Besides the obvious invisibility, I mean. If I speculate, though, I'm guessing she has above average speed (but not superb) since she wears a skirt. Kind of gives the impression that she's stationary half of the time during battle. Unless it's not that tight, but I'll leave my speculation at that.

i can top the Kaz thing, i can play my favorite videogame in my head, NO FEATURES LEFT OUT. every rock in place. that makes me very strange....
besides, one picks up the linguistic traits of the environs one is submitted to.

but still, Kyo's been training all his life, pretty much. the whole "meditating under waterfalls and fighting bears" thing. but then, he still can't breathe fire or shoot lightning from his hands. neither can Xae, and she had the training thrust upon her. when there are human mages, they can't have the thick skins and training of the other races. even the sylphs, who are frail, are still very hard to beat.
the plot doesn't even reference the humans. it's all about these beings, who consider themselves higher and have the power to push it, and their creation. the humans? they haven't the power to have wars of their own. the best they can hope to be is a magi. but that gives me an idea... hehehe... but maybe not... i don't know.
but yeah, that just means the human characters have to try extra hard to prove their race's value. and maybee cream a few elementals.

I think it's more like... there's been a couple (or at least one) generations since the dragons were created. I could be wrong since Louie's the one who made the whole story, but that's what's in my head.

So if that were true, I see humans as being there, but not as pathetic as you say. More like becoming more and more involved, like how the first post says that the "Salamanders discovered the humans."

In other words, it's like the humans get discovered and divide up, becoming parts of the different races/affiliations. Pokemon-wise, they're like Dittos, y'know? ^_^

Ok, here's the skinny/dilly/facts as I see them. Kyo, if humans are sheep, they are the most undustrious sheep ever to exist. Yes, elementals have certian inheirant strengths and certianly my character (if not the other elemental characters) has an 'aire' of superiority based upon that, and what Tolkein would have called 'being an elder race'.

What that doesn't mean is elementals are in fact superior. It would be like calling birds superior to man for their inheirant ability to fly. Worked great for birds for quite some time until man caught up and now sucks poor geese into jet engines forming a nice patte.

Racism, you bet! Sci-Fi and fantasy are a great way to tackle issues most people would be bored out of their minds to read about. If I started talking about how the only way we'd succeed as a species ultimately was if people could put their differences based upon skin color, heritage, culture, beliefs, etc away and working together for the good of all then most people would probably find it a great time to begin taking a nap. If in a work of fiction you have this happen, more people can find it interesting. If somehow the message seaps into their heads that racism is a bad idea, all the better.

Now don't get me wrong. I don't believe our little story is going to accomplish much more than giving us something enjoyable to do. But, again, theirs always hope. And, the fact that you picked up on this subtle point in the story points to that hope all the more.

Here's my suggestion, secondary characters continue for those who wish them, die for those that don't, but with a new format in both cases...

This is a story that we are all authoring together and using each other's input/control over their specific character to enhance things, right?. So as long as people can clearly understand which character you are talking about (in my case I usually include something even about characters I dont control) then there is no reason for seperation. Seperation? What?

Meanning no reason to draw a line between when you are talking about any of the characters you control. Instead, just making it clear. That way it doesn't seem like two independant efforts and doesn't disrupt the flow of the narative.

If that sounds like a bad idea and no one but me wants to controll secondary characters it might be fun to switch control of each of them to others to come up with some fun way to have them leave the story/ die/ wander off for months without even a word. (bad sylph)
