if i recal, without direct divine interference, the spell goes not by divine discression but by the discression of the person in the spiritual planes, who is given your name, alignment, class, etc.

ah well. that's sad, but new characters are nececary every once in a while. it's good, though, to keep your old stats and equipment arrround... just, you know, for in case you want to quick-start an epic level campaign.

Ohh man. I started a campaign yesterday with a friend. He was a level 5 thug (a fighter with rogue-ish qualities in exchange for feats). He was jumped by men wanting money. After dispatching them, he was asked by a dwarf to come with him to the barracks. The half-elf commander asked him to infiltrate and island and kill a lich necromancer who wants to force the world to convert to the Pharaonic deity Set. However, since the eastern villages are being assaulted by orcs, the commander needed a new man to lead. The PC has about 250 men and three lieutenants (the dwarf fighter, a human fighter, and a human samurai) against the lich necromancer, his 10 Minion of Set bodyguards, about 50 Sahuagin in the ocean, and another 50 Drow in complex underground tunnels beneath the island.

Will they survive?

yes, yes they will, i bet.
we just killed a dragon that ate the annoying ranger. it made me happy. not that we avenged him so much as that he needed avenging. then we had a plot point.

Today, the PC sailed towards the island, but was confronted by the Sahuagin. After much combat, the Sahuagin captain jumped aboard and challenged the PCs to a fight. With 4 hands, the Sahuagin was sure to win. Hoever, the ship sailed into rocks and knocked the pirate captain into the ocean. Now, they have a new problem... how will they get off the ship with the island so far away?
