"it's mostly clean enough, should work. sharp things are not pleasant to have in you, aren't they?" he began to try to wrap the hand in it with the clean side down.

Xae smiled slightly. "You 'ave no idea," she told him. When her hand was bandadged, she made a fist. It twinged, but it wasn't bad. She could work with it. "Thanks," she said, looking at the gate and then at the road they were on. "What do ya think we should do? Wait fer Reev an' Kaz or go for a walk? I know some good places to 'ide on this road."

Kaz watched momentarily as the guards who drew their swords were punched out of the way by a running Kyo, which seemed not to notice Kaz in his preoccupation. The guards got up, only to be sliced up by Xaenai and fall promply back to the cobblestone.

Kaz waltzed up to Idaur, sword in hand. "Your guards aren't very good ones. Where'd you find them, Sioto Gulch?" Sioto Gulch was a somewhat known ghetto jam-packed full with war failures that all depress each other, totally ignored by the government and out of the way of any other cities or roads or anything. Idaur didn't respond though, as he seemed to be unconscious. "Another time then."

He looked around, seeing that about two out of three of every guard was laying on the ground or completely incompacitated. All of the civilians by this time have disappeared. Most of the damage done to Idaur's 'troops,' - if anyone could call them by that by the standards they displayed today, Kaz thought - wasn't that bad, considering it was all was fist and leg blows and somewhat shallow dagger stabs. He then saw a few archers that must have fallen off of the gate tower, arrows in their chests and skulls. Well, ok, some soldiers are obviously dead.

He looked to his right and saw the gate opening slowly but surely, guards jogging to Kyo and Xaenai on the other side. They would still have to wait since it wasn't up that high yet and the guards certainly weren't as lithe as the younger humans on the other side. One guard further away from the gate saw Kaz next to Idaur and screamed, running towards them. "Yeeeaaaaaggghhh!!!!" Raising his sword over his head. Kaz looked at him and side-stepped, closelining him with his left hand sending him flying behind Kaz with stars in his vision.

The salamander's next course of action was running behind the guards near the gate, who noticed immediately but couldn't catch up, and leaped up to a slot window on the gate tower, catching it with his left hand and tossing himself up to the highest slot window which he pulled himself up to look in, legs and sword-holding hand dangling off to the side. An odd sight for the guards who weren're focusing their attention on the humans. "Hey Reev," he said, after which the sylph's heart jumped and mind reeled, bringing her out of her internal fight with herself. She stopped working on the wheel and her head turned to the archer slot that was darkened by his head. "Oh. Hello Kaz."

"You can stop now, Kyo and Xaenai are already through."

Xae didn't wait for an answer, having already come up with one. She started down the road, wriping her dagger on the hem of her tattered shirt. "Drat it, now I'm gunna need a new one," she muttered, glancing behind herself to see if Kyo was fallowing.

The sylph exhaled and nodded at Kaz who seemed satisfied that she understood as his face disappeared from the window. Raising her cloak to free her wings was quite the chore as her arms felt like lead, molten lead. A wave of greif over the death and destruction she had wrought today threatened to engulf her, but she pushed it away after saying a mousey, "I'm sorry," over her shoulder to two of the deaths she had caused this day. She climbed the ladder without looking back, forcing her arms to work just a little longer. When she reached the top of the tower she stretched her wings and flew off with her arms dangling limply at her sides.

She soared upwards high into the air soaking in the freedom of flight and stealing a glance back at Mytavia. No pursuit for now was being organized and for that the sylph was glad. She spied Kaz running along seemingly none the worse for wear, occasionally bounding in great leaps over obstacles. Looking ahead along the route he was traveling, she saw Xae leading Kyo together towards the forrest. Reev tipped her left wing and dove down towards them. Before too long she had caught up and with a much less showy move than earlier she landed, retracted her wings and joined Xae and Kyo who were now walking together at a fast pace.

"What took ya so long, Xaenai asked with a grin. Reev shot her a look but didnt respond. Kyo and Xae shared a glance and a grin but didn't laugh at the sylph this time. Reev noticed the shared amusement though and took the lead, walking faster than Kyo and Xae. When Kaz reached them and slowed his pace to match Xae and Kyo's, Kyo took the oppertunity to ask him, "Is she always this serrious?" Kaz chuckled and replied, "Mostly."

Safely ahead of the others Reev loosed some of her pent up emotions quietly to hersylph and then pushed them away with planning. "What now," her mind asked and her head and arms chimed in together, "Rest!" Wiping her eyes and setting her face she turned back to look at the others, who must have known she needed her space as they had kept a good twenty feet between them and her, and stopped. "We should look for some place to rest for the night. It's getting dark quickly and I am exhausted," Reev said to Kyo, Xae and Kaz.

[Hey, would it be ok to (as mentioned in another thread) end this chapter? Like lock it and whatnot? I mean with permission of Louie of course. It just seems like the perfect time to re-group and start anew, eh?]
