I would assume this friction theory would be based upon the fact that one would be traveling faster than the speed of light, whether it was perceived as such or not. Even approaching the speed of light would, to the best of my limited knowledge, kill a human being. Then again the same was considered about surpasssing the speed of sound, which is now done routinely. I believe it was Einstein (fitting for the subject) that said "the more you learn, the more you realize how little you know."

actually, the problem for people is the accelleration, as in space speed is relative so in many situations one can use that to explain away things.
one can experience less time or more time than other people, though not in the same location...
friction is pain if you independantly move that fast.
