gunpowder, treason, and plot;
i can think of no reason
why gunpowder treason
should ever be forgot.

Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, 'twas his intent
to blow up the king and the parliament.
Three score barels of powder below.
poor old england to overthrow.
By god's providence he was catch'd.
With dark lantern and lighted match.

so yeah..
today is the 401st aniversary of the Gunpowder plot against the first stuart king, James I of england, V of scotland. Eventually people revolted against his son... as a result of things happening later in his life, and those of his sucessors', Parliament got the power it has today...
so just immagine...
what it would have been like if he had, you know, died.
